Set up a VPN-connection for Linux

The right way of configuring your Linux to work with Ivacy depends on Linux distribution you use. It's almost impossible to cover all distros, graphical environments and VPN frontends out there; this is why we provide you with instructions and screenshots of setting up an Ivacy acount using Ubuntu Linux, one of most widespread distros out there.

If you use different distro, please consult with developers and maintainers of your distro.

Please note!

To use the following step-by-step instruction you need to install network-manager-pptp package. Use the package manager provided with your distro to find and install it.

Step 1

Click on network icon.

In the dropdown menu choose VPN Connections → Configure VPN.

Step 2

Click Add, and after VPN Connection Wizard start press Forward.

Step 3

Select PPTP tunnel and press Forward.

Step 4

Type Ivacy VPN in Connection Name field and pptp.ivacy.com in the Gateway field.

Press Forward.

Step 5

Press Apply.

Step 6

Press Close.

Step 7

Click the network icon, go to VPN Connections and select Ivacy VPN.

Step 8

Enter your login and password (the ones you've used while registering on Ivacy.com) and press OK.

Congratulations! You are in our safe Ivacy network!
