PPTP connection setup for Linux

The right way of configuring your Linux to work with Ivacy depends on Linux distribution you use. It's almost impossible to cover all distros, graphical environments and VPN frontends out there; this is why we provide you with instructions and screenshots of setting up an Ivacy acount using Ubuntu Linux, one of most widespread distros out there.

If you use different distro, please consult with developers and maintainers of your distro.

Please note!

To use the following step-by-step instruction you need to install network-manager-pptp package. Use the package manager provided with your distro to find and install it.

  1. Click on network icon. In the dropdown menu choose VPN Connections → Configure VPN.
  2. Select Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) and click Create.
  3. Connection Name: Ivacy VPN
    Gateway: pptp.ivacy.com
Type your user name and password you chose for registration in Ivacy

    Press Advanced.
  4. Check Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE) and Allow stateful encryption.

    Press OK and Apply.
  5. Click on network icon. In the dropdown menu choose VPN Connections → Ivacy VPN.
  6. Press Always Allow.

Congratulations! You are in our safe Ivacy network!
